My sister-in-law Christin celebrated her marriage to her now-husband Kory this past June and I was honored when they asked me to design their wedding invitations. Her vision for their special day was inspired by the Great Gatsby, with roaring 20's speakeasy vibes, mixed metallics, and the classic combo of black and white.
We decided to do a three-color foil invitation suite (one of my designer-dream bucket list items!), with a gold foil invitation card, a silver foil custom map, and a rose gold foil rsvp card. The cards were wrapped in a sheet of vellum and sealed with a wax 'P' seal (made by Venus Envy Paper), for their last name, Patterson.
I tracked down as many vintage 20's themed stamps as I could find online and we used these to address the main envelopes. If you've ever worked with vintage stamps then you know how much this process is a labor of love, but they really helped tie the whole theme together and it was so worth the extra effort.
The custom map was my favorite part of the project - I created small icons to represent their two lives and Napa, California love story, which looked extra cute in silver foil. It was so special to design these and to get to be a part of their special day. Congratulations Christin & Kory!
